Tuberculosis (TB) continues to burden densely populated regions in Indonesia despite national control efforts. This cross-sectional study evaluates TB awareness and prevention practices among residents of a high-burden district in East Java. A total of 850 participants were surveyed using a standardized TB knowledge and behavior questionnaire. While 72% were aware of TB symptoms and transmission routes, only 44% practiced consistent preventive behaviors, such as proper ventilation and seeking early diagnosis. The results indicate significant gaps between knowledge and practice, influenced by stigma, misinformation, and access to health services. Strengthening community engagement and culturally tailored health education is critical to enhancing TB control efforts.
